Citra develops, designs, and builds homes and eStates using Citra Building Technology, with a desire to create high-quality, sustainable, yet affordable housing developments without compromising financial returns.

The Citra development mandate is to facilitate the entry of the advanced Citra Building Technology into the South African market, while providing a holistic product to the target market which fosters social, economic, and environmental sustainability.

Citra also offers a one-of-a-kind comprehensive turnkey solution in its developments, where our in-house team handles every aspect of the home, ensuring a seamless and accountable experience throughout the entire process.

We aim to differentiate our projects from low-quality, “cookie-cutter” housing developments by investing in large-scale projects of approximately 1,000 homes and deploying new technologies, allowing for innovative design solutions from detail to urban design level.

Cost savings through economies of scale enable the provision of high-quality housing in thoughtfully designed, sustainable neighborhoods, fostering a sense of community and contributing to improved quality of life for residents.

Under Development

Citra currently owns three large properties in the Western Cape, all intended for mixed-use, integrated residential development. Between 2024 and 2034, Citra aims to develop approximately 3,750 residential units in these sustainable neighborhoods.

CentralBlue - 42ha, Blue Downs

The first development where Citra Building Technology is being showcased at scale. With approved rights for 1,800 residential units, Citra’s design and technology approach brings sustainable living to homes in an urban environment that is secure and accessible.

With a variety of amenities, including retail and commercial spaces, an affordable school, community sites and parks, the focus is on integrated development, with opportunities for small businesses, job creation, education, community living and recreation.

Planned for approximately 1,200 residential units and 20,000m2 commercial uses. 

Aims to be a flagship for sustainable development by amongst other things, producing more power from PV than can be consumed in the development.

Pinebrook Estate - 38ha site, Sir Lowry's Village

A sustainable mixed-use development consisting of approximately 800 – 1,000 residential units, as well as business & retail spaces, community centers and public open spaces. providing modern, eco-conscious living in a country setting.
