Sustainable, affordable, and iconic design: The eHomes built in Blue Downs, South Africa, change the very understanding of affordable homes. These EDGE-compliant homes offer incredible thermal comfort and exceptional spatial quality with room heights up to 3.5 meters. Each of these carefully crafted townhouses has been designed to deliver comfortable, economical family living while contributing to a safe and joyful neighborhood. Together, they form a futuristic but human-scaled streetscape in which children can play freely outdoors while parents maintain excellent visual contact.
Inspired by the innovative work of Pritzker Prize-winning architect Alejandro Aravena, our double-story eHomes feature covered external spaces that seamlessly extend the living area. This design, echoing Aravena’s celebrated “half-a-good-house” concept, provides a flexible framework that empowers homeowners to incrementally expand their living space with minimal cost and disruption.
